In this exPLoration you’ll learn the what, why and how of SEL and gain strategies for how to use music to support CASEL’s core competencies in all elementary classrooms. Music is easy to integrate, helps students regulate, and be better prepared for academic success.
Sharon works with school districts across the nation as the Instructional Strategist and Clinician at QuaverEd. In addition to leading and designing Professional Development, she presents at Education conferences and national webinars about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Social Emotional Learning, and Music-Based Learning. As a First Generation Korean-American, her personal experiences and lived truths have inspired her continued research and work in the fields of DEI, SEL, and Music. In this way, Cho has become a leading advocate for antiracist curriculum and instruction, Culturally Relevant Teaching, and Cultural Competence. Sharon also comes from a diverse performance background, receiving a Grammy certificate for her Background Vocalist role in Tajmo, a collaborative album by Taj Mahal and Keb’ Mo’ that took home Best Contemporary Blues Album of the Year.
